Living with Striate palmoplantar keratoderma

An inherited skin condition with painful, thick skin in lines on the palms and soles.

Understanding Striate palmoplantar keratoderma

Striate palmoplantar keratoderma is an inherited skin condition that thickens the skin of the palms and soles.

Thick skin forms in lines along the fingers and palms and in patches on the soles. The thickened skin can be painful and may crack, blister, or sweat heavily. Rarely, thick skin forms on the knees or the backs of the fingers and toes. Signs may begin in the newborn or infant years.
