Accessibility statement

Last updated: October 9, 2026

Many people in our community live with conditions that affect vision, hearing, movement, energy or concentration. We want everyone to be able to find information, read stories, explore research and reach us on this site, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We treat accessibility as ongoing work, not a one-time check.

What we do

  • Build pages with clear headings, landmarks and labels so they work with screen readers and keyboard navigation.
  • Keep text readable, with sufficient color contrast and layouts that adapt to zoom and small screens.
  • Give meaningful images text alternatives, and treat decorative images as decorative.
  • Respect your device's reduced-motion setting, and let you pause moving content by hovering over or focusing it.
  • Write health information in plain language wherever we can.

Known limitations

Some older articles, videos and documents carried over from our previous site may not yet meet this standard, for example videos without captions or PDFs that are hard to read with assistive technology. Some content, such as embedded videos and links to external study and partner sites, comes from third parties we don't control. We are reviewing older content and fixing issues as we find them.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on this site is hard to use, or you need information in a different format, please let us know. Tell us the page address and what happened, and we'll do our best to help and to fix it.
