Living with Salivary gland small cell carcinoma

A very rare, fast-spreading cancer of the salivary glands.

Understanding Salivary gland small cell carcinoma

Salivary gland small cell carcinoma is a rare cancer of the salivary glands, also called anaplastic small cell carcinoma.

Salivary glands include the glands in the floor of the mouth, the parotid glands, and the submandibular glands. This type is very aggressive and can spread. GARD says distant spread is almost always present when it is found. Under a microscope the cells are small and arranged in sheets, strands, and nests.
