Living with Hyaline body myopathy
A rare genetic muscle condition causing slowly worsening muscle weakness, usually beginning in infancy or childhood.
Understanding Hyaline body myopathy
It causes weakness or thinning of muscles near and far from the center of the body. Some people have weakness in the shoulder blade and lower leg area, with shoulder blades that stick out (winging). Onset is usually in infancy or childhood, but adult cases have been reported. Some people have breathing problems or heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy). Muscle biopsy shows hyaline body inclusions.
