Living with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease dominant intermediate D

An inherited nerve condition with slowly worsening weakness and loss of feeling, sometimes with nerve pain.

Understanding Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease dominant intermediate D

Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease dominant intermediate D is a rare, inherited nerve disease with features of both nerve fiber damage and nerve coating damage.

It brings the usual features of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, with variable severity: slowly worsening weakness and wasting in the hands and feet, loss of feeling there, weak or absent reflexes, and foot differences. In some families it also includes severe nerve pain and mild tremor of the arms. It usually appears in adulthood.
